About

First things first. Sharing the joy of eating good food is my hobby and at this point, lentils and love does not contain any affiliate links, advertisement, or any other internet revenue streams schemes. Also, to maintain my joy, my content is not an SEO slave. Most recipes are just that, recipes, and do not require neverending blog posts. If a recipe has a meaningful (to me) story or needs extra context, I will share it. All media on this site is mine and as such all rules apply.

Food is the best sculpting material ever. You can be as creative as you want and once you are done, you get to eat your creations! There are endless ways of combining and preparing zillions of ingredients. My recipes are suggestions of what has worked for me. You can either follow them or use them as an inspiration for your own experiments.

As background info, below is a summary of my approach to cooking and my recipes (in no particular order and by no means complete) :

  • All recipes are plant-based and gluten-free. This is what is working for me and I will not try to convince you to change your ways (for now ;)). If you eat any food, you can find something here.
  • all dishes are carnivore tested before being posted.
  • recipe names are to give you an idea of what the inspiration/idea for the dish was not what the actual dish might be. This is especially true for ethnic foods. I do not claim to be an expert in any one type of cuisine but love to mix elements from all of them.
  • At times I resort to using popular nomenclature to describe plant-based equivalents e.g. “cheese”. It should not be expected that plant-based cheese will taste exactly the same as dairy-based cheese but we haven’t come up with new words yet so we are stuck with what we have.
  • I save all the liquids. Yes, the leftover liquids – that spicy vinegar from pepperoncini or brine from the olives. Those work great in many recipes from dressings, dips to cheeses, that is plant-based cheeses of course. And after the liquid is used, I might repurpose the jar but definitely recycle it.
  • Ingredient amounts in the recipes are just estimations and to demonstrate proportions. Whether a cup of spinach is packed, totally depends on how much you like that spinach.
  • Not a fan of vegan processed foods like sausages, hot dogs, or such but if it makes people eat fewer animal products, then I’ll make my peace with those.

There is no right way or wrong way of making food as long as you make it with love!
